Character Designs - Class Doodles

A few days ago a very peculiar individual who noticed me drawing in the margins of my notebook asked me what I was doing. I told them exasperatedly and a tad annoyed (though I was flattered they saw I could draw at least) that I was drawing. They then replied 'Why didn't I draw in a drawing book'. My answer was simply: because I have too many art books and I don't know which ones to use.' Which is true. And then an idea hit me; I should use one of these books to doodle in class! And now I have a character design book I always have in those really boring classes - like that one mining course that is going to kick my ass in the exam, but like, really dude? We've spent a whole hour on THREE slides, which are just pictures of mineral processing plants? What is this I don't even.

SO YEAH. CHARACTER DESIGNS. STUFF I DO WHEN I'M BORED. PROOF THAT I DON'T ONLY DRAW NUDES.

You may also notice that these are all drawn in ink. This is mostly because I tend to take notes in ink and also because I've made a habit out of drawing at work with their pens. I'm also using it as a way to practice my movements. Since you can't erase anything, you have to either have great control, or be able to improvise really well. For a perfectionist like me, it's a very good way to improve sketching techniques (though I am obviously still lacking in the 'pose' department, haha).

And yes, I feel obliged to give all these characters backstories (except the really wonky tall chick who was originally a dude. She's just... she's just there.)

NJKDKFGERHYJYT. When am I ever going to have time to do actual art or write this actual book. Seriously, most of my courses this semester are just brain fuel for story writing (BECAUSE LOL GEOLOGY - yeah, if anyone reads this book (meaning if I ever write it) they'll think geology is the coolest thing evah. More motivation to write it eventually!).

One more week of classes - mostly review, and then 3 weeks of exams. 7 exams. Many of my friends have 4 or left. Where have I gone wrong. Well, joke's on you guys! Imma have 6 hours less of classes next year, awwww yeah. And 1 less exam.
